Mayo Mountain Rescue Team

Mayo Mountain Rescue Team is a Voluntary Organisation which provides a 24/7 emergency service 365 days of the year.

The team responds to all emergency callouts, with up to 80% of all annual callouts being focused on Croagh Patrick, including the annual pilgrimage on Reek Sunday where MMRT coordinate the activities of all MR Teams attending for the pilgrimage of up to 25,000 people climbing on this one day of the last Sunday in July. Working alongside the Order of Malta, Westport,(Order of Malta Westport Branch) pilgrims are assured of the best possible care should any accident happen!

However MMRT have also being involved in various other outdoor events throughout the county such as the Focus Ireland 4 peaks Challenge and the Gael Force Adventure Race based in the Westport Area as well as participating in HSE West Major Emergency Planning and Training Exercise.
