Heavenly Father, as we enter this sacred season of Advent help us to prepare our hearts for the coming of Your Son. May we clear away distractions and focus on the hope that His birth brings to our lives.
PART 2: REFLECTION:
Lord, grant us the grace to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. In our moments of stillness, may we grow in love, joy, and peace, remembering the light that Jesus brings into our darkness.

Come, Lord Jesus, and awaken our spirits with anticipation. As we light our Advent candles, let each flame remind us of Your promise to be with us always, guiding us toward the joy of Your birth. Amen.

THAT CHRISTMAS JUMPER:
What could be so wrong about putting on a Christmas jumper to spread some festive cheer and maybe raise much needed funds for a charity? One in three people under 35 buy a new Christmas jumper every year however I have some bad news for you – 95% of those Christmas Jumpers are made wholly or partly from plastic materials. Polyester is a kind of plastic usually derived from petroleum. It uses a lot of energy to produce and pollutes the water and air. Polyester jumpers last for years and most of them end up in the landfill and never biodegrade. I am afraid to say that the Christmas jumper has become one of the worst examples of fast fashion. Most of these Christmas jumpers are only worn once during the Christmas period. If you do want to wear a Christmas jumper this year, we suggest you buy one from a charity shop or swap with friends. If your work or school is having a jumper day why not suggest a swap? Or donate your jumpers to the event? In Westport I am delighted to say all our Charity shops have a wonderful range of pre loved Christmas jumpers in stock! If you want to be truly creative – why not decorate a jumper you already wear with bits and bobs? Onc less jumper will not fix our planet – but it is a start!
