October and World Mission Sunday is a time for the faithful of the world to show their appreciation towards the work of overseas missionaries. BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP: 

Life after a bereavement can feel empty and lonely. Sometimes spending time with others who know the experience can be helpful. Trained facilitators conduct a weekly Bereavement Support Group meeting at the Family Centre, knock each Wednesday at 11am.No booking required. WESTPORT PARISH YOUTH:

St Mary's Westport Parish Youth initiative is on Fridays the Parish Centre (upstairs room) from 4 to 6pm and will run during school term times. The age group is aimed towards 1st Years and 2nd Years. MAYO SCHOOL LEAVER INFORMATION FAIR WHERE TO FROM HERE

This event is to support young people with a disability and their family decide what they will do when they leave school. On Wednesday, October 16th at Breaffy Hotel, Castlebar, people can drop in at anytime between 11.30a.m. and 3.00p.m. for information.

Send forth, labourers into your harvest and grant them the confidence to preach Your Word. May Your Gospel be heard and glorified. WORLD ROSARY DAY WITH A SPECIAL PRAYER FOR PEACE:

On Monday October 7, 2024, Catholics around the globe will unite in a profound act of faith and solidarity by participating in World Rosary Day, a pivotal event designed to spiritually prepare the faithful for the upcoming Jubilee Year 2025. This special day of prayer has been initiated in response to Pope Francis’ call for a “symphony of prayer” leading up to the Jubilee Year 2025 and underscores the Catholic Church’s commitment to fostering unity, hope, and spiritual renewal among its followers. Join your prayer in the Family Rosary at home or at the 9.30am Rosary in St Mary’s Westport or at Knock Shrine Parish Church at 7pm.

CROAGH PATRICK CLIMB: Rev Alex Morahan, rector in Ballina church of Ireland is climbing Croagh Patrick on Saturday 12th Oct. Meeting in car park at 8.30am.  Climb is to support YSPI. Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland and we will hold a short prayer service in the oratory on top at 11.30/12 noon.


All welcome to join us and donations can be made on the day or on YSPI site.
