The video depicts the severe corrosion of the fixing bolts that support the bells at Saint Mary's Church in Westport, County Mayo. The corrosion was previously concealed behind timber damper plates located on top of the bells. The extent of the corrosion became apparent when one of the timber plates decayed, revealing the deteriorated fixings inside. This deterioration posed a significant risk as some of the bells, weighing over a ton, were on the verge of falling.
