There has been a school in the village of Drummin since 1849, with the building dating back to 1936. Over the years there have been many refurbishments and renovations, including a new classroom and a beautiful landscaped playground, which includes picnic benches for dining al fresco, a vegetable garden and an insect hotel.
Drummin NS is a happy, busy school where pupils and staff respect, care and support each other in an inclusive environment on their journey through primary school. We place great emphasis on developing and nurturing the whole child. The child's personal talents and interests are encouraged and developed, building a solid foundation for lifelong learning and confidence. Our low pupil to teacher ratio means that every child gets the attention and time they deserve.

We provide opportunities for the children to take part in a number of fun activities throughout the year including playing tin whistle, ukulele, mindfulness, yoga, meditation, art projects, table tennis, sport, science experiments, environmental activities and growing our own food and plants. We are a Green School and are currently undertaking the Amber Flag initiative, supporting positive mental health and looking after our minds and bodies. We celebrate this every week during Wellness Wednesday.
